Clinical Overview

Indications for use:

Assistance in smoking cessation treatment of patients with nicotine dependence

Outcomes:

Statistically significant differences were observed in the primary endpoint (9-24 weeks sustained smoking cessation rate) and all secondary endpoints. The treatment effect was sustained at the end of the 24-week period of application use, 52 weeks after treatment initiation.

Directions:

Patients use the product once or twice a day to record their smoking cessation status, view learning content, and practice a daily action list. The product delivers personalized guidance and supports the patient’s behavioral cognitive therapy.

Risks & warnings:

CureApp SC Nicotine Addiction Treatment App and CO Checker may not be suitable for a non-tech adoptive individual.

CO Checker Notes:

• The sensor in this device detects hydrogen gas. Therefore, depending on the patient’s physical condition, illness, and the use of inhalants, a higher than expected concentration value may be displayed.
• The CO checker should not be used after 24 weeks of use, because there is no trial data after 24 weeks of use.

• This product should be used with the guidance provided by a physician or other healthcare professional in accordance with smoking cessation treatment manuals prepared by the relevant academic societies.

Product description:

The patient-facing app can be used on smartphones. The physician-facing app can be used on PC devices.

Prescription status:

A prescription from a qualified healthcare provider is required.

Patient access:

Patients can download the application from the Apple Store or Google App Store. Patients can activate it by entering the prescription code issued by their physician.

Use of this product requires access to:

• internet or wifi
• a smartphone

Provider access:

Clinicians have access to the SC dashboard on their computer and this will soon be available on their tablet to check patients’ data. CO checker is delivered to each patient and patients record the amount of CO with the device.

Coverage options:

The application is covered by insurance. Patients pay 30% of the total expenditure.
